Tibet - 18th Century.  Finely painted with mineral pigments on cloth depicting the red Hayagriva, the King of the Wrathful depicted with a crown of skulls atop his three-faced head, holding his attributes in his six arms wearing tiger and elephant loin cloths and stamping upon bundles of snakes with his eight legs, surrounded by flames on a lotus dais, with three smaller monks above.

Provenance: From an old Scottish private collection, given as gift in the 1950's whilst working for a non-governmental organisation helping displaced Tibetans in India. 


Condition: In good overall condition, as expected with age and use-related wear and creases; attached to a board.
