If you live in Franklin County, have family or friends living there, or a general interest in the area, this is the single best historical source. Maps contain the old landowners names and acreages! Portraits and views of leading citizens, and many prominent buildings, residences and homesteads. The atlas contains personal sketches of some of the prominent men and early pioneers of the county, a list of patrons and a business directory at the back. A general history of Indiana, an explanation of government surveys, and a statistical table for the United States of 1870 conclude the volume. In fine unmarked condition, rebound in cloth.
