Lower Jurassic, Upper Lias. Age: 180 Million years old. Found on the North Yorkshire Coast at Ravenscar as an erratic nodule. This 8.3cm stunning 100% matrix double-sided specimen has been expertly prepared to create this unique piece for the discerning fossil collector. The preservation is wonderfully detailed with well-defined bold ribs, a fully visible 360° outer edge (venter) and a whorl that's present to it's centre on both sides. It even has a flat cut base for instant stand free display. Once prepared the Ammonite was then polished to bring out its stunning detail and give a high shine.
