Here on offer is a rare pair of antique Georgian English pewter plates dating to the early 18th century by Thomas Stribblehill II, as found.
This wonderful pair of pewter plates or dishes have a simple rim that gives way to the bouge and then onto the broad flat base of the dish. Both pieces have an engraved armorial unicorn. The pewter has a dark soft grey age related patination, surface marks and some minor deformation from use, there is some oxidation. For the age of this piece it is in good condition.
The style is typical of such dishes from the early-1700’s. One of the pewter plates/dishes has a touchmark featuring David slaying Goliath, for Thomas Stribblehill, who was in business from 1704 to 1748.
This wonderful pewter pair of plates or dish is offered in good used antique condition, they measure about 24.8cm in diameter by 2.1cm and weighs in total 1000g.
