Georgian Longcase, Grandfather Clock c1790 by Bloodworth (Whitehaven) Long Case

Seller: norfolkbroadland (213) 100%, Location: Norwich, Ships to: Free Local Pickup, Item: 183416195247 Mahogany cased 30-hour longcase clock, the arched hood with carved swan neck pediment over fluted free-standing columns to a moulded throat with dentil work and blind fret panels to a shaped long trunk door flanked by quarter columns on a panelled and plinth base with further quarter columns and bracket feet to a 12ins arched brass dial (arch later added) with applied spandrels enclosing a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring and engraved to the centre Bloodworth Whitehaven and with date sector and blued steel pierced hands to a movement with plates united by 4 knopped pillars and with anchor escapement strike on a bell, height 88ins (associated). Condition; I'm not an expert (the details were kindly given by one) so condition is as shown. I spent quite a lot to buy it some years back, with another £500 to get it working, though we tend not to have it running as we live in a bungalow and the chimes used to wake us!. Some chipping and wear, as shown, rear board split, as shown. Nice picture of a gentleman fishing, wearing period dress.
