Seller: timelordclocks (39) 100%, Location: Crawley, West Sussex, Ships to: GB, Item: 163071080132 A Georgian / Regency 8 day double fusee bracket clock with 20cm dial, in mahogany striking on a bell with brass grills to the sides. With mahogany shelf, pendulum, pendulum lock, winding key and chapter ring key. By M & W Dilger, 152 Oxford Street, London. A beautiful clock which measures 43cm tall x 30cm wide x 18cm deep . Calling the hours striking on a bell on the hour. Keeping good time and working very well. I have taken out the movement of of the clock so you can see what it looks like, see photos. Whilst the movement was out I run down the movement to inspect it for wear. All pivot holes looked good, I did not notice any wear on these. All of the added bushes from previous servicing also looked good. I would say from the movements condition this has been serviced not long ago and has been a well looked after clock. It has been keeping good time and working very well. Please study the photos as these form part of the condition report for this item. Please bear in mind that this clock is at least 200 years old and any imperfections are considered expected due to its antique nature and part of its charm. The case looks lovely in this design with the applied brass inlays which was the fashion on so many of the Regency period clocks. There are some splits in the veneer, which is to be expected, at the top of the clock and at the right hand side at the edge where the brass panel is at the side of the clock. There at a couple of splits on the font as well please study the photos. Not sure if the brass ball feet are original as they are very clean. The dial has been touched up over the years. 'The M & W Dilger', has been retouched but the faded '152 Oxford Street' address has not. I noticed on the other side of the dial when removing the movement there was hand written note on the reverse of the dial stating 'Dilger'. The chapter ring locks and unlocks OK with the small key provided. The back glazed door lock does not work properly so don't use this otherwise you may lock the back door without being able to open it. So presume the back door lock needs attention. The clock comes with a bracket clock shelf so you have the option of hanging the clock on the wall if you so wish. The shelf I notice is a little wrapped with age at the back, but perfectly usable with perhaps a lift added to one of the feet of the clock. There are some splits in the veneer on the sides of the shelf. I notice that the corners have been carved to accept ball feel, where the clock sits. Time adjustment is down by raising or lowering the pendulum bob. UK bidders only, sorry no international post. I may post the clock and shelf separately as two parcels. UK mainland postage will be £25.00 via UPS. If you are not mainland and the courier charges more for delivery to your remote location I may have to add a surcharge to the postage or use an alternative courier. Collection welcome from my home in Crawley, Sussex. Age: Antique, Pre-1900, Material: Mahogany, Features: 8-Day, Clock Type: Bracket Clock, Style/ Origin/ Theme: Regency/Georgian
