Seller: bazc107 (191) 100%, Location: London, Ships to: GB, Item: 223128178469 Good quality mahogany 8-day longcase clock by John Harvey of Weymouth, Clockmaker to George III (see below for details).7' 1" tall mahogany case with oak blackboard, brass inlaid reeded hood columns with brass capitals and raised panel to base.12" Wilson dial is in excellent unrestored condition and retains the original steel hands.The movement appears very original, complete (crutch foot present) and in good condition under the dirt and grime.The case requires significant restoration, so sold as shown.Comes with original weight pulleys, period (possibly original) pendulum and two weights. John Harvey (1758-1829) was an Engineer, Entrepreneur and Clockmaker. His trade card states that he was 'Watch and Clockmaker to King George III' and he is known to attended the Royal party on their visits to Weymouth. His clocks range from rustic cottage clocks to the finest quality London style longcase and regulator clocks. Several similar clocks by Harvey with London type cases are known.
