This clock is made from solid oak throughout and is in excellent used condition with just the slightest of imperfections here and there, not worth mentioning! The clock has also been given a very slight distressed look which most American floor clocks are/were given, giving the clock more character and a more traditional finish.

The clock has been manufactured by Seth Thomas: to those who haven't heard of Seth Thomas I suggest you take the time to have a read!  A company noted for top quality floor clock production

The clock has a German Hermle Westminster chime movement installed and is in excellent working order - the movement will however be professionally serviced before sale - please allow up to 7 working days for this work to be carried out. 

The movement is 8 day and is weight driven on chains.  The clock can be manually silenced at any time by adjusting a lever that are located next to numeral 3.  This lever is also used to select Westminster chime.

The mechanism is powered by 3 brass heavy weights.  The weights are in excellent condition.  There are a few imperfections here and there such as a few light scratches etc However, the weights are very clean and presentable. The brass lyre pendulum is in excellent condition.  The brass moon phase dial is also in extremely good condition and the moon phase dial is in perfect working order.

Access to the movement is easily achieved by removing either or both side panels that are located in the hood of the clock.  This makes for easy access of the mechanism for tasks such as pendulum removal/replacement, adjustments to the suspension etc.

The front of the clock has a full length opening door which is held firmly closed under lock and key.

This clock is very ornate, has lots of  decorative carvings and looks and sounds superb.  The buyer of this clock will not be disappointed.  This is the first Seth Thomas Clock I have ever owned - they are few and far between.
