Griggs Conical Electro Magnetic Machine. 1873. Mahogany Case.
Patented January 8th, 1873, on a silver plate on top of the coil "Grigg's Conical
Electro Magnetic Machine, 31 Westbourne Terrace Hyde Park, London, Maker
Chislett Plymouth.
Presented in a mahogany case, the mahogany coil housing has an capped
soft iron wire core inserted in the small end. This machine has had some
later modifications, however we rigged it up to 9 volts of battery power, and it
fired to life, but we were not brave enough to try it out, (we wouldn't recommend
it).
Displays well and a rare example.
Case measures (in inches) - 11.5 w x 7.5 h x 8 d.
Please study pictures for condition as they make up any part of the description
