Woven on a backstrap loom. This piece is unusual in being fully hand embroidered across one end with flowers, a purple background and multicolour with gold threads for flower centres. The embroidered section measures 39 1/2 " x 2 3/4". Full length (without fringe) 93 34". Each fringe measures 11 1/2" Bought in early 1970 in Quetzaltenango. It is very much one of a kind. The third picture shows the reverse side of the embroidery - as beautiful as the primary side. Use as a belt, wall hanging, decorative piece.
