The cottage is ideally located for exploring Galloway forest park situated in a quite rural location just one minutes walk from the House O` Hill Hotel/pub.  Galloway forest park is often overlooked but truly does offer a wide range of activities, sights and events with something for everyone and well worth a visit at any time of the year.

The cottage is 5 min`s walk from the Southern upland way, 10 min`s cycle from Glentrool 7 Stanes Trails.  15mins drive from Loch Trool, Bruce`s Stone and the base of the Merrick the highest summit in the Southern Uplands.

Glentrool Studios & Gallery and Glentrool visitor centre are also close by.

Galloway offers a superb range of sea, river and loch fishing.

Galloway Forrest Park is one of the darkest places in Scotland so it has been designated the UK’s first Dark Sky Park. So few people live within the Forest Park that the nights really are inky black, making it a brilliant place to enjoy the stars.

Silver Ridge Cottage is a semi-detached cottage (sleeps 2) near Glentrool and just seven miles from Newton Stewart. The cottage sleeps two people, has one double bedroom, a shower room, dinning room, kitchen with a sitting room and a woodburning stove.
