These cameras have built-in Infrared (IR) port so that they will work with the remote.

Usage:

For the first time use. Please pull out the plastic separator at the battery holder.

Mount the camera on a tripod or place the camera on a stable, level surface.

Press the button and rotate main command dial until (delayed remote) or (quick response remote) is displayed in the control panel.

Aim the transmitter on the remote control at the infrared receiver on the camera (usually within +/-30 degree of the lens axis, from the left to the right and from the top to the bosom) and press the shutter-release button on the remote control (when using the remote outdoors, make sure that the subject is not backlit and that the line of site between the transmitter and the infrared receiver is not blocked by the lens or other obstacles).

How the camera focuses and shoots depends on the option selected camera's custom setting. For further information, check your camera's manual.

Infrared cannot be seen by human eyes. So you will see no visible light from the LED on the front end of the remote control when operating.  

1. The battery you need is Lithium Cell CR2025 3V .

2. To insert the battery, open the back with a slide and push movement. It might be a bit difficult first, so you can try to use a pen or a similar object to help you.

3. It is often instructed to use the M setting, however the remote seems to be working with any settings. Press the button as shown in the picture to change the remote settings.

4. Select the "Self-timer: 10 sec/remote" mode as shown in the picture.

5. Press the button as shown in the picture to change the screen from set-up to viewfinder.

6. Point the remote from the front towards the area as shown in the picture.

If the remote doesn't work after following the settings, try changing the battery.
