Kevin Ayers - Joy of a Toy LP - 1969 - SHVL 763 - VERY RARE NO EMI BOX 1ST PRESS

A wonderful copy of the Harvest label Kevin Ayers - Joy of a Toy 1969 Stereo LP UK Version 1st Pressing, Matrix Numbers A1 / B1

I have been informed that this is a rare copy as it has no EMI box on the label which is a unique characteristic of the very earliest of the first pressings. They only existed for a short period in that style before EMI implanted their logo in the 9 o'clock position. This copy also has the Gramophone text around the top of the label which was quickly superseded by the EMI writing.

In terms of condition, the cover is excellent with only the mildest of edge wear and no noticable scratches, tears or marks. There is no ringwear. The spine has kept very good rigidity apart from one indentation in the centre which can be seen on the photographs.

I have now sound tested the record and it plays beautifully - I would say Near Mint. No skips, jumps or pops. The vinyl is extremely shiny with no substantial scratches or blemishes whatsoever; incredible for its age. In certain light some extremely faint whispy marks could be seen but they are almost impossible to find and do not affect sound quality in any way.
