The surrounding countryside is very popular with Cyclists and Walkers, and Golf is not far at Camposol or the Hacienda del Alamo. There are also a couple of Airfields in the area, with everything from Para-Motoring, Sky-Diving and Hot Air Balloons to Microlights and Group A Aircraft. The village of Las Palas is about 5 minutes drive away, where facilities include Doctors, School, Shops, Bakers, Hairdressers, Mini-Supermarket, Banks, Community Centre and of course Cafe-Bars. It is very traditional and typically Spanish. If youre looking for Benidorm, this definitely isn't for you! Although there is an ever growing network of services and activities for local ex-pats, english food, pubs, bars and shops are abundant at the Camposol Urbanization about 20 mins away. Puerto de Mazarron is the nearest beach - only 15 mins to get wet! Its not yet commercialised so is still very traditional - it's where the Spanish come for their holidays, leaving Torrevieja (45 mins away) and Benidorm (1 hour 20 mins away) to the Brits The local airport is San Javier / Murcia which is about 30 mins away. All the Budget Airlines fly there now making UK to Spain trips economical and frequent. Also Corvera Airport is yet to open, but is even closer! About Us: We bought the land and had the property built some 20 years ago when we came to work in Spain, fitting Solar and Hybrid Systems to remote properties. We enjoyed several years in this house with the children growing up here but unfortunately work commitments took us back to the UK and the house has stood empty since then, approx 9 years. Apart from the annual one or two trips to do basic maintenance and checks, it has been left untouched. We also own another smaller house in the area, where we are currently living after having just returned back to Spain, now the children are older. We intended on living back in the "big" house, but during our absence from there we now have a new neighbour. All be it 200m away from the house we simply don't get on! SORRY TO DISAPPOINT, NO GREAT DRAMA The House Today: We want to be brutally honest about the house, and want potential viewers / buyers to be aware of the necessary works that need to be addressed from the start. As we said previously, this is a project. Although we enjoyed it as a sprawling family home in the sun, where we could accommodate and entertain all of our friends and family, we recognise the Business potential this property has to offer. The Malu side of the house is dry, painted and relatively ready to move into once water and a power source is supplied to the house. The Utility Room / Pantry area was once an external porch which we boarded in - to give extra space to the kitchen area. This boarding has not weathered so well, so could do with replacing or removing again. The Extension has not faired as well. This is due to the Roof membrane failing so has allowed some rain leaks, resulting in plaster bubbling. As a result the 80m2 Roof needs re-covering, which is usually done in Roofing Sheets here. The Roof is just concreted at the moment. The internal plastering on walls and ceilings needs to be replaced in the entrance hallway and the main lounge, the bedroom 4 and bathroom 2, to be thorough. The floor tiling is intact though. The Dip Pool needs emptying and re-tiling, and plumbing needs to be replaced. There will of course be some painting to do but a lot of the rooms have been done and are at an acceptable standard to live in.
