Item Description Stunning midcentury coffee table by Kurt Ostervig (1912-1986) for Jason Mobler dating from the 1950s. The model is called The Surfboard. Ostervig was a Danish designer who loved to work with oak but also worked in rosewood and teak. This table is extremely refined with its combination of a teak top with oak legs and attractive brass strut support detail. This is the rarer eight-foot model. Marks and scratches commensurate with age. This table could easily be sanded back and re-oiled if you are looking for a pristine piece. With its size and presence, it would grace any interior. Danish furniture designer Kurt Østervig (1912-1986) began his career as a naval architect in Odense, Denmark’s third city.
