He apprenticed in 1740 and became free of the Clockmakers Company in 1748 and was a member of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers between 1766-1793. I have owned this clock for over 12 years and had the movement and dial professionally cleaned and serviced in 2005 by Richards of Burton. The elegantly proportioned highly figured Walnut veneer case looks stunning. I removed the top brass finial due to a low ceiling but it simply screws back in, the actual height is 86 1/2" (220cm) without finial or 91 1/4" (232cm) with. The movement is 5 pillar which you would expect from a quality London clock, it features an inside countwheel strike and runs for 8 days. Calendar is also fully functioning.
