Seller: alistair45 (466) 100%, Location: Bromley, Ships to: Free Local Pickup, Item: 164036172199 Movement made by Winterhalder & Hofmeier, Black Forest, Germany, as evidenced by W&H on the rear of the dial, probably around the 1830’s. The oak case is surmounted by a swan neck pediment over two freestanding columns and a square trunk door that terminate in brass capitals. The clock stands 200cms or 6’ 7” high. The 12” square painted dial shows floral decorations and has roman numerals. There is a calendar aperture showing days of the month. The case does show evidence of repair at some unknown time and there is evidence of damage to veneer, particularly the trunk front lower panel as shown in the photographs. The two train 30 hour weight driven movement uses a chain for winding and is fitted with an anchor escapement and a 1 second pendulum. Striking is on a count wheel and the hours are struck on a cast bell. The movement has recently been completely overhauled and keeps reasonable time although the pendulum and cast weight are not original. Please see photos for details as they form part of the description. Sub-Type: Grandfather, Material: Oak
