Item:332803940429A 19c English flame mahogany twin fusee bracket clock dating to c1840. Superb colour and patina and fine flame mahogany with detailed carving to the front. The sides have glass viewing windows and a brass portcullis back door. The cast brass bezel has thick bevelled glass which is perfect. The original 8 inch painted dial has the name "G. Hammond" Manchester and retains its original steel hands. The quality 8 day chain drive double fusee movement has five pillars and shaped shoulders with anchor escapement and strikes the hours on a bell with London style regulation pendulum. All in good working order and striking in sequence. Standing 18 inches high[46cm] x 15.5 ins wide[40cm] x 7 ins deep[18cm]. There are a few light surface cracks and an odd veneer repair as you would expect with a clock of this age but as you can see from the photo's its in excellent original condition. The colour is superb and in good working order. It has its locks but no keys but does come with a winding key.
