Set in regency style/early Victorian period flame mahogany case, which has seen only a little restoration, this elegant clock boasts a wonderfully rich colour with a beautiful patina gained from many years of polishing. The four corner spandrels of the dial are painted with symbolic female characters to represent Scotland, England, Ireland & Wales and the overhead arch depicts a scene of domestic happiness painted in primitive folk art style. The 8-day movement which displays seconds & date is also signed on the brass back-plate i.e. "W. DOBBIE". This genuine and original longcase clock can be viewed by appointment.
