My listings will probably 'disappear' sometime in the second half of March. The break should only last two or three weeks, hopefully. My apologies to regular buyers. Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 This sale is for one pair of half sheets, from those illustrated.I am asking between £1.50 and £2.50 per pair of half-sheets, as these original scraps are scarce and becoming scarcer. You can choose any pair of sheets from this list, selecting from the drop-down menu above: A1 / A8, Gypsy Girls / Small PortraitsA2 / A7, Four Faces / Tiny Playful ChildrenA3 / A6, Refined Ladies / Lilies A4 / A5, Fancy Dress Children / Portraits on TambourinesHaving bought one (or more) of a particular pairing, there's nothing to stop you then buying a second pairing. You can also combine sheets bought here with sheets of scraps on my other listings. If you add to your Basket, you can request an invoice (see below), thus saving on postage. Elsewhere, I have a "special" sale where you can select scraps which are cheaper than usual, because I have these in relatively large numbers. These four pairs of sheets, however, are more expensive than usual, because of their rarity. Not only do I have very few of these, but I can find no commercial supplier of scraps, worldwide, who has any of these up for sale. It goes without saying that they are long out of print. When these are gone, they are gone, so to speak. Each half sheet is 6" by 9" (229mm by 152mm). These scraps would have been printed as a single sheet, 12" by 9", but - depending on the packaging method before sale - were often separated. In fact, the A4/A5 sheets are still joined together as a single 12" by 9" sheet. For the A1/A8, A2/A7 and A3/A6 pairings, I have some joined and some separated, so please send me a brief message if you have any preferences as to which you would like. For the single 12" by 9" sheets, these will be neatly folded in half for posting out (with the fold between the two respective half sheets). The first image above is a composite, showing all 4 pairs of sheets. Other images are scans of individual pairs of sheets, to aid your selection. I am learning as I go along, but if you click to select a particular pair of sheets, then the relevant image should be displayed (if I've done it right). [ I don't know why, but the very first 8 sheets in the Mamelok Golden Series were always paired oddly - A1 with A8, A2 with A7 and so on. ] Scraps will be posted by Royal Mail, in cardboard or card-backed envelopes. P&P is 80p for 2nd Class, or £1.00 for 1st Class Please note - I remain happy to combine P&P on any and all of the sets of scraps I'm selling - so that however many scraps of different types and designs you buy, P&P charges will remain fixed at the highest postage cost involved - that is to say: either 80p or £1.00, depending on the class of postage chosen. The easiest way to avoid paying more than you need to for P&P is to add everything to your eBay Shopping Basket, and then click on the "Request Total from Seller" button at top right. I can then send you an invoice with 'combined postage'. But, if requesting an invoice doesn't want to work - and I know that some buyers have had problems - you can simply buy the scraps individually, and I will refund you what you have overpaid in postage via PayPal. I do usually post sheets within 24 hours of payment - but on rare occasions it may be 48 hours. UK buyers only, please. Any questions, I will do my best to answer. P.S. I found this potted history of Mamelok scraps on the web - probably written some years ago - and reproduce it here in case it is of any interest:- In or around 1827, the company Mamelok & Adam was founded in Breslau (then part of Prussian Silesia, and now Wroclaw in Poland). It was one of the first commercial colour printing companies, and produced religious pictures (often known as oleographs), embossed scrap reliefs, icons and oil prints. By 1904 the company had between 100 and 110 employees. In 1920 it took over two other companies (Zoecke & Mittmeyer and Littauer & Boysen). By the 1930s, they were trading as Mamelok & Sons. However, despite producing religious (Christian) items, the Mameloks were Jewish, and between 1934 and 1936 Max Mamelok wisely relocated at least some of the company's presses and plates to London. By 1940, there was a British company called Mamelok Press Limited. In 1968 Mamelok Press moved to Bury St Edmunds and in the same year acquired a German company, Heilbronn & Pinner (known as H&P Decorations). However, the company struggled from the 1980s onwards, and went into liquidation in November 2009. The brand has now been relaunched as Mamelok Papercraft, trading largely or entirely on old printed stock.
