There is a small paddock bordered by a babbling stream, (It is possible to put tents here if required) 3 acres of gardens and woodland to explore immediately behind the cottage including a small vineyard of 90 vines, and a huge wild wooded common beyond. This large expanse of common woodland (ABOUT 60 ACRES) can be walked providing you take away nothing more than memories, it is protected. There are private picnic places ( i am constructing these at the moment, and hewn log benches dotted around, to sit and enjoy the peace and tranquility, and if you are lucky watch some of the abundance of wildlife. There are longer walks over the surrounding hills and through the ancient woodlands, where you can enjoy the views, soak up the peace and quiet as you will probably share it with only yourselves, and literally accessible right from the front doorstep of the cottage. Early in the year there are snowdrops, daffodils and primroses growing wild, (January February) which give way to bluebells in May. Rhododendrons Pieris and many flowering shrubs follow in late spring and summer. Later in the year wild fruits are in abundance, through the hedgerows and woodlands.
