For on today is a rare pair of Meriden Britannica Co and No8 Aesthetic period silver plate salt cellars with Boston and Sandwich overshot crackle glass inserts with gold trim.
These rare survivors date to around 1870. The quality of the silverplate is beautiful with hummingbirds, doves and urns of flowers and for the handle ivy leaves meaning foreverness, loyalty faith. A must have for the serious collector of Aesthetic movement and Boston & Sandwich objects. Both are marked one mark is sharpen then the other.
