Excavated in 1903. Along the FOOTHILLS of the Sierra Madre occidental. The dog has great bone and muscle definition. A VERY EARLY PIECE. The dog is holding what looks to be a bird in form. The bird has a face with eyes, though hard to see. This little rarity is quite unique with character. In a setting, lying down position. With legs tucked underneath its body. The head is raised slightly, holding its triangle shaped prey in its mouth. The ears are at a alert stance. and pointed. Its mouth agape, with eyes half way opened. You can see all the definition in the several angles of photos I used for this lesting. he has a curled tail as well.
