It was one of the first office chairs to be designed to strict ergonomic principles. The piece was designed for Hille by Frederick Scott, (14 July 1942 – 31 January 2001), a British designer who was best known for creating this particular piece. The Supporto was designed in 1976 and released in 1979, and was complemented at the time by other seating and tables in the Supporto range. This piece features arms, a die-cast polished aluminum frame, and a five star base with castors. Upholstered in black fabric the seat is height-adjustable via a pneumatic safety spring. The seat back is also adjustable and can be locked in any position. The metal requires polishing and there is a scratch to the right arm as detailed in the picture. Date approx 1982
