Seller: gustavianstyle (18) 100%, Location: Barnet, Ships to: Europe, US, CA, Item: 153208651272 Fryksdall Mora Clock The Fryksdall Mora clock is characterised by its slim waist, wider belly, curly scroll decoration on the waist and neck and extravagant hood carvings. They were owned by wealthier individuals in Sweden and found in manor houses. This Mora Clock is painted in a soft cream and gold detailing to the elaborate carvings on the clock. The clock sits on its own marble style painted pedestal. This pedestal is detachable (see photo of the back of the clock) and if height is a concern then the clock can stand perfectly well without this pedestal. This clock has its original mechanism which is in working order. The face is painted with arabic numerals around the outside rim and in addition has the days of the month. The third arm that tells the owner the month day. Mechanisms with month displays were rare in Sweden as their construction into the clock mechanism required a higher level of clock making skills and further confirms that this clock would have originally belonged to a person of some stature in Sweden as oppose to a typical country or village Mora clock.
