Presented today is a restored 1920s vintage mantel clock, with an art-deco featured Napoleon-Hat Hard Wood case with carved decoration , powered by an unmarked two train brass movement made in Germany. The 8-day movement strikes on the half and full hours via a steel gong. It is presented in great condition in an antique red/brown colour tone, and in excellent working order.

From the front, a 6.5-inch circular chrome-plated bezel front door fitted with a convex glass protects a silvered dial with clear black Arabic numerals to show the hours. Two black blade-shaped steel minute and hour hands are used to point to the time.

The previously extremely tired case has been fully restored and waxed a few times to bring it back to life. The shape, the decorations, are all extremely attractive, exhibiting a typical feature of the art-deco design. Signs of tears and wear marks on the top of the case evidenced the nearly 100 years ticking history. This pleasant smooth top with red/brown colour tone, mixed with these carves below the bezel would offer extra attractions to most living room.

The movement has been ultrasonically overhauled and necessary repairs were carried out (several worn bushes have been replaced, see photos). It now ticks nicely in good working order and keeps good time. The clock should offer you some good memories for years to come.

The movement is unmarked, but the series number and pendulum length are stamped on the back plate. It is made in Germany after WWI. It strikes via a gong on the half and full hours, which sounds great.

The case, convex glass, dial and bezel are all in very good antique condition, although they are signs of tears and wears for its age.

The case has a good size, which measures: 17.5-inch wide, 9.5-inch tall and 5-inch deep (44 x 24 x 13 cm ).

All clocks on sale have been tested at least for four weeks, and they all come with a pendulum and working winding key. In this case, this clock comes with the original bronze pendulum and an antique bronze/steel winding key , and it is in great working order.
