This is a beautiful Pelikan Souveran M400 fountain pen in the unusual White Tortoiseshell design - a special tortoiseshell finish which was introduced in 2004.  It is still sold today and with this coveted Extra Fine nib, retails new at c. £365. This pen is in virtually unused condition - no ink residue when wetted, and is in clean, bright and completely "as new" condition.  I have not listed it as "New" because it has been opened and handled. The piston ink fill system is working perfectly (tested with water), and the resin and celluloid components are glossy.  All metal trims are bright and unmarked.   This is a post-2010 version of the pen - pens released before 2010 have the painted one chick cap top whereas pens released after 2010 have the 24K finished one chick cap top.    The Pelikan Souveran M400 is a medium-small sized and relatively lightweight, luxury fountain pen which features an 14 carat gold nib with rhodium decoration giving a two-tone finish.  The striped barrel body of the M400 is made from celluloid acetate which is a cotton derivative and so each one is slightly different to each other, much like wood has different knots and patterns. The barrel is translucent, so you can see how much ink is left inside the pen by holding it up to a light. The creamy-white parts of the pen are made from high quality resin, which has a sheen and is strong and lightweight.  The metal trim of the pen is 24 carat gold plated. The M400 White Tortoise was the first white tortoise ever introduced.  The model debuted in 2004.  Rather than brown, the barrel has more of a honey green appearance with wonderful transparency allowing that ink visibility.  It has all of the trim of a post-1997 M400 including a trim ring at the section, two trim rings at the piston knob, double cap bands, and a crown cap top.  The furniture is gold and the cap and piston knob are white.  Dimensions (all approximate): Length Capped = 125 mm Nib length = 20 mm Section length = 14.9 mm Section diameter (max/min) = 9.8/9.1 mm Barrel diameter (max) = 11.8 mm Total length (not posted, including nib) = 122 mm Total length posted (including nib) = 149 mm Weight = 15g I will send this pen carefully protected under fully tracked and signed Royal Mail delivery in the UK.  Please note if you are buying from outside the UK, this pen will take around 10 days to be delivered to you.
