These are the Fiery Furnace 3/4-Inch Round Rein Offset Bolt Tongs. These tongs are made to hold 3/4-inch round and square stock, and with the cross v-notch jaw, they can hold the stock both parallel and perpendicular with the jaws.  Offset tongs are a great option for holding odd shaped pieces because the tongs hold the stock offset from the gooseneck, boss, and reigns of the tongs. This comes in super handy when making hooks or working longer bars, where grabbing the end of the stock is not possible or desired.  As with all of my tongs, these are about 18-inches overall length and are forged from new 5160 spring stock.  Carbon steel tongs make a stronger and lighter pair of tongs as compared to other makers. Mild steel tongs need to be either heavy to be strong, or if they are light, they bend with any heavy use. Spring steel gives great grip strength in a very light package.  DO NOT QUENCH TONGS! If you heat these tongs up and cool them in water, they will break. It is EXTREMELY bad habit to overheat your tongs. Good habit is to dunk your tongs in water rapidly, IN and back OUT very quickly. This will cool your tongs down slowly and prevent making the material hard and brittle. If you do not understand this process....do not hesitate to ask questions.
