Very Nice Turquoise Blue Ushabti (slightly more deeper colour than my first picture in colour). I'm thinking that it's a female that's the subject,  as the face that can be seen is very feminine. Bought a long time ago from a reputable antique's & antiquities' dealer who operated from the Royal Borough Of Greenwich in London for something like 45 years or more. The business no longer operates as the proprietor passed away a few years ago,  his shop's were run on a grading system,  Antiquity,    High End Antique,    Mid Class Antique,     Lower End Antique,    (he classed this as also being junk). The dealer amassed untold stock,  from all over,  from Ancient Greek,  to Roman,  to high end very early Chinese Antiquities to more modern antiques,  in fact the only goodies'  that the dealer did not take much interest in was all types of jewellery.   Theres no written providence to go with this shabti as there wasn't any to be had,  it was a case of you pay and you take it away on his death,  nobody ever worried about providence as you was buying the dealers personal keepsakes,  which amounted to thousands of items,  to look through one shop was a good days work,  let alone look through the other 5 shops,  so I think that I can confidently say that this shabti is kosher,  but if there are any problems,  you are guaranteed your money back,  my word is my bond. It stands 57mm high,  and at its widest its 27mm wide,  it was hard to photograph and I've put an AA battery beside the item so to prove it's size.  The blue colour of it is a bit better than the wishy-washy blue that your seeing in my pics,  it's a bit more turquoise and not a wishy-washy grey blue colour,    if you get me,    but not a fake looking bright blue,  its a nice blue. The mummy is well defined,  its got a nice face,  a bit better than most you will have seen, and its starting bid is .99p. Go google these shabti,  the prices range from £140 to £900's,  the average price for them is £400 to £500's,  so a start price of .99p is well cheap,  giveaway cheap,   but as you well know,  on here the good buyers are not stupid, they wont let this one get away,  it'll make its money for sure. Have a look at my other items,  my stuff is pukka,  I don't sell rubbish. I post by recorded delivery,  or if the item exceeds £48's I'll send by special delivery,  I wrap and pack extremely well,  so the item will arrive in the condition as it is pictured,  I do not post to some places,  so if your in doubt,  please ask your questions well before you start your bidding.
  • Condition: Shabti is in excellent condition for its age, looks to have had very minor glaze flaking, a tiny bit of flaking to a corner of the base, and a smaller bit of natural flaking to the back in the mid-body area, both flaking issues will amount to an old glaze flaking issue from long ago to possibly .05% of the shabti which is well within reasonable handling ware and tear over the years.
