Game Boy Macro  -  So what the heck is it ?! The  Game Boy Macro  is the name for a customized Nintendo DS Lite - made by removing the top screen and performing some soldering magic* to the motherboard to get it to play GBA games. *not magic

The result is essentially a GBA with a much improved LCD display. Vastly superior to even the backlit GBA SP as shown in the pictures above.

It works EXACTLY  the same as a GBA and plays all GBA games! The only difference is that it won't play original Gameboy games, just Gameboy Advance games.

I design and assemble each of my Game Boy Macros  individually here in the UK. My aim is to produce an improved version of the GBA which is also totally unique.  On this  Game Boy Macro   I've added Pokemon figures for a totally unique console. These Pokemon are fitted around a light-up rod which shines out from the Pokemon when the Macro is turned on.

This Game Boy Macro  has a speaker fitted and so plays sound. It also has a rechargeable battery  It is also region unlocked and so can play US or Japanese GBA games as well as European ones.

The  Game Boy Macro  is made from a used Nintendo DS and so may have the usual wear and tear of a used handheld. The Pokemon figures are incredibly cute but may have some light marks. P lease see the pictures for an accurate view of the condition.

I fix a lot of DS's which have broken upper displays, and making them into  Game Boy Macros  is a great way to recycle them. This saves the DS, reduces electronic waste and creates an amazing GBA in the process (win, win, win).
