This panel is constructed from 3 panels each hand stitched together. There are small patches of a later fabric hand stitched in two places on this wonderful panel. The fabric ground is a very very finely woven light weight linen and cotton mix, most likely having been hand woven in India and imported for printing. The ground tone is a ruddy red. This panel was reverse printed so the ground was printed and the pattern appears in the natural tone of the fabric. Stunning and rare ~ Ideal for any collection . Measurements : This rare textile measures approx. : 105 inches wide by 83 inches long. CONDITION : This textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition with the wonderful patches as pictured. There are some small and tiny holes dotted here and there. The top and bottom edges are raw ( unhemmed) . Generally in stunning condition for its age however not without signs of time and use often inherent in these wonderful textiles.
