England 1970 No6 Retro Football Shirt England, 1966 World Champions and holders of The Jules Rimet Trophy, wore a lightweight cellular fabric shirt specifically designed for Mexico'70 and began their defence of the World Cup as they had ended it in 1966 - with a Geoff Hurst goal in the opening Group C match versus Romania (1-0) played in the Estadio Jalisco of Guadalajara. Press reports hailed England captain Bobby Moore, wearing No.6, as the best player on the pitch. 

Five days later, on the 7th June 1970 again in Estadio Jalisco, in one of the greatest games in World Cup history, England lost a memorable match versus Brasil (0-1). Gordon Banks made 'The Save Of The Century' from a seemingly 'unstoppable' Pelé header. Jairzinho scored for Brasil as he would in every game at Mexico'70. And footballing masters, Bobby Moore and Pelé, defined 'The Beautiful Game' for a whole generation watching the televised coverage worldwide.
