Due to popular demand, I have decided to offer a Higher performance version of the AM6 engine, in addition to my standard engines and bespoke rebuild services. I can either offer you this as an upgrade to your existing engine.

Due to the nature of individual customer requirements the price g iven is an indicative quote based upon upgrading your engine to circa 22BHP which is the highest i would suggest for road use

I f you are looking to seriously upgrade your bikes performance this is the one for you. This has been specified to offer outstanding road performance with reliability from a small capacity engine

If you are looking for a race track engine please contact me to discuss further, I have built engines that exceed 30BHP these are built to offer max power often at very high RPM for the track and require frequent rebuilds as they are stressed to the max.

The process, I start with your supplied engine, the engine is completely dismantled, every part is fully cleaned then inspected. All parts that fail inspection are replaced, this engine is not just dismantled to fit cheap a Chinese built crank, piston, bearings or seals but remanufactured using the best materials to the highest standards.

The vast majority of the cost are the parts ( I am happy for you to supply parts for me to fit)  typically you replace the following, 

  A/ To take this extra power all bearings are replaced with superior SKF bearings (C3 TN9 to crank and gearbox main shaft, balancer shaft is normally removed)

B/ All oil seals and O Rings are replaced with PTFE for the lowest resistance and VITON seals VITON offers a unique combination of fluid, heat and compression set resistance making Dupont's Viton one of the toughest, most versatile materials ever developed.

C/ All “standard” engine fixings are replaced with new stainless steel fixings that are all torqued to factory specifications with thread lock as applicable

Examples

D1/ Stage 6/ Top Performances circa 80cc Long Stroke cast iron kit achieving 18-20BHP. Acceleration and torque will be considerably improved, especially at mid to high rpm range. As a cast iron kit. it is also very dependable and long-lived.

OR

D2/ Stage 6/  Top Performances  circa 86cc Long Stroke aluminium cylinder kit performs excellently at any range and can get up to 22/26hp. This gives you greater power over the cast iron kit but at the cost of shorter life expectancy.

OR

D3/ 2Fast100cc aluminium capably of delivering 26-30 BHP 

E/ A top branded long stroke crankshaft with High crankcase compression and silver needle bearings provide excellent running up to 16,000 RPM. Great balanced crank for high end performance engines.

F1A/ All AM6 gearboxes suffer wear to the shims and circlips which over time allows too much end float resulting in poor gear selection, the selector also suffers from high wear. To get the best out of the gearbox it is fully refurbished with all worn parts replaced including all circlips and shims. The end float is adjusted back to new standard

OR

F1B as above but upgrade to the 6th gear to Lower the Revs

OR

F2 all new racing gearbox with ratios more suited the these significantly higher powers

  G/ The clutch has been checked for wear and uprated to a Polini clutch which uses High Friction clutch plates and a set of 4 reinforced clutch springs. AM6 engines normally only use 4 friction plates and 3 steel discs. In this High Friction Kit, the friction plates and steel discs are made slightly thinner, so that two additional discs can be added. This increases the friction surface by approx. 20%. There is less slippage and better coefficients of friction. This help to put down all the extra power generated by this engine.

  H/ The reed has been upgraded to Vforce racing reed block with very large inlet cross section. Rather than the standard 4 valves, this model has 8. The power gained just from this reed block is anything up to approx. 3bhp. This technology provides you with a performance increase you can feel. A truly top-end product   for a crisper response and better air flow

  I/ The oil pump is removed as it does not provide sufficient oil for this power so you must premix the 2T oil in your petrol tank, a blanking plate is fitted in its place

  J1/ Ignition system, for a road bike I recommend sticking with the ignition system type that is fitted to your bike, most AM6 engines are fitted with either the Ducati or Moric ignition system. Specify at time of order please.

OR

J2/ full racing ignition provided higher advance curves for better top end power and performance but these generally remove the lighting and charging circuit so are less suited for road bikes

K / Inlet Manifold replaced with larger inlet track to enable the engine to breath improving top end performance

L1 / Carb a 21mm is a good match and a simple Dellorto or Dellorto copy is fine for the majority of road bikes gives you all you need,  Carbs require fine tuning once fitted to your bike and jetting will depend upon your engine, exhaust and airbox arrangement.

OR

L2/ Larger carbs provide more top end power at the expense of poorer lower rev power and running best left for the track in my opinion the Polini range should be considered, Carbs will require fine tuning once fitted to your bike and jetting will depend upon your engine, exhaust and airbox arrangement.

M/ You can spend a lot of money on parts but unless you have a suitable exhaust you may well find your bike performance failing to meet your full anticipation, this does not mean you will not notice significant improvements but on 2T the exhaust is very important  

I am always asked how fast will the bike be and how much power and how reliable will it be. Top speed is down to the power produced, your choice of gearing, the carb/exhaust choice you make. Is your bike a Supermoto, naked or fully faired bike? Are you 8 stone and 5ft or 20 stone 6ft 6” ?

The biggest difference is the acceleration and the bikes ability to hold its speed on inclines NOT TOP SPEED, However I would expect the D1 cast iron engine with the proper setup circa 70-80mph   the D2 circa 75-85mph the D3 80-90MPH Remember a 125 4T learner is limited to 15BHP and typically does 65-80mph
