"A great product at a very affordable price! For some time, I have had an interest in learning more about GPIB interfacing and all the additional functionality available through the GPIB port on the rear of my test equipment. This GPIB-to-USB controller has given me the chance to pursue that interest, without emptying my pocketbook. After receiving the GPIB-to-USB unit, I was able to quickly repair a non-functioning programmable power supply. Only through the GPIB port, could I have easily seen what was wrong with the supply. Now, I am ready to move on to bigger challenges involving computerized control of my test equipment. Thanks for the exciting new product."
"I have a Tek scope with GPIB, and wanted to automate some measurements. But the NI dongle is $500. So I tried the GBIP-USB card. It uses drivers from FTDI, which installon XP with no problems. In a very short time, I was commanding the scope throughH yperterminal. Totally painless to bring it up. I highly recommend the product."
This GPIB-to-USB dongle plus a plotter emulator software program (7470.EXE by John Miles) will provide a simple, inexpensive way to capture and print screen plots from a variety of GPIB-based test instruments. This is "plug-and-play" functionality at its very best. The usual expense and hassle of dealing with a GPIB port is a thing of the past. Thanks for a great product."
"I have a bunch of older test equipment with GPIB interfaces on them. For a long time I had wanted to set them up with computer control and data capture but the cost of entry for a IEEE-488 to PC interface was prohibitive. This little device looks to your PC like a serial USB device - (your PC already has drivers if you run Windows. Linux has drivers in the latest kernals). Now I can command instruments, then recieve data back to file, plot or process further. Great device!"
