Item:292699788455Mid/Late 19th Century Ebonised English Bracket Clock, Dial inscribed B L Vulliamy (Benjamin Lewis 1780-1854) son of Benjamin Vulliamy. The Vulliamy family were highly renowned Clockmakers to The Crown since 1742 - George II? This particular clock has a W&H SCH Movement. W&H SCH: Winterhalder & Hoffmeier - one of the very best German Movement makers, established circa 1840 and eventually became part of the Junghans clock empire in the 1920s. Ebonised English Bracket Clock Case with 8 day quarter striking movement - fast/slow dial. The gilt brass dial with a B and a stylised L either side of Vulliamy at the top. Very attractive gilt Ormolu figures, feet and finials. Height 14in or 35.6cm + finial 1.75in or 3.5cm Width including the feet 28cm Depth including the feet 19.2cm To be clear, with the stylised L and a W&H SCH movement, this clock would not have been made by the great man personally and if he did it would cost a lot more to buy. It was retailed with the B and stylised L to honor him. Would by far prefer collection (with cash or bank transfer) but will post UK for £25 at your risk - well packaged obviously. Overseas buyers - please ask for quote. Please note only payment by bank transfer will be acceptable. Please ask any questions and viewing is always on offer. Thank you for your interest.Condition:Good & Full Antique Working Condition, Age:Antique, Pre-1900, Type:Georgian, Material:Ormolu, Style/ Origin/ Theme:English, Clock Type:Bracket Clock, Features:Fast/Slow
