Some of these pictures can be seen in this listing. I take great pride in my work, which I hope can be seen in the finished product. On offer here is a lovely c 1950 Smiths Enfield Bakelite mantel clock, which is now in lovely condition. When I brought this clock is was in a terrible state. Not just very dirty, but also rusty. This clock has been fully restored and cleaned by myself. I have tried to do this restoration to a high standard while still trying to keep the character of the clock. This clock is an eight day and strikes on the half hour and counts the hours at 12.The dark brown Bakelite case dimensions are 8 ½” wide by 7 ¼” high by 5” deep. The clock dates from circa 1950 and for a clock around 65 years old and because of the service it has undergone runs and strikes very well. Please do bear in mind that this is an old clock and therefore although in very good condition there are some imperfections related to its age. There is a crack to the back of the case (please see photo) which I have repaired but is still visible. The movement has been completely stripped, repaired and cleaned. Considering how poorly it looked, the clock plates were in quite good condition and only required two new bushes in worn holes. Unlike most old clocks, the key gremlin didn't get the key to this clock, so therefore it will come with an original Smiths Enfield key. These are as rare as hens teeth. As with all my clocks, the buyer will receive my own care sheets so that you will get the most out of the clock. Covering four sheets of A4, these pages cover everything from winding up the clock and adjusting the time, to when to have it serviced. You will receive a C/D with a write-up and 79 photos showing the work I have done on the movement and case. The care sheets will be on the C/D. If you require them printing, please let me know. Please note the following on postage:-I am happy to post my clocks to you and they will be packed to the best of my ability. With this in mind and because of the rough handling of our postal services you are more than welcome to pick your clock up from me.
