Before bidding on, or buying any item from me, please check my feedback and bid/buy with the utmost confidence. If you buy this clock from me, you will receive a TDK C/D with 115 photos of the work I have carried out on the movement and the case, along with a write up of the work seen in the photos. Some of these pictures can be seen in this listing. I take great pride in my work, which I hope can be seen in the finished product. On offer here is a lovely “one of a kind” Smiths Enfield Napoleon hat mantel clock. I brought this look to restore as I had never seen a Smiths clock in a case like this. I discovered that it is indeed a marriage of what I think is a 1920s German case and a late 1940s Smiths movement and dial. This marriage has been done very well and the only tell-tail sign is two holes inside the case where the Westminster chime once sat. I found it ironic that the case and movement (German and English) was produced either side of World War II and were married together sometime later. This clock has been fully restored and cleaned by myself and I have done some restoration to the case while still keeping the character of the clock. This clock is an eight day and strikes on the half hour and counts the hours at 12. The medium/dark oak coloured case dimensions are 16”wide by 9 ½” high by 6 ¼” deep. Please do bear in mind that this is an old clock and therefore although in very good condition for its age, there are some imperfections. As I have said, the case is in good condition considering its coming up to 100 years old, but I have not over repaired it, as I feel this would spoil the clock. To that end the case will have some small marks which will be related to its age. I have done some veneer work to the case which you might notice. The movement was in very poor condition and required a lot of work to get it running again. This included it being stripped right down, including the main springs. All pivots polished. Three New bushes in the back plate and a 3 stage clean and polish. All this work can be seen in the photo diary. Unlike most old clocks, the key has not been taken and lost by the key gremlin. Therefore this clock will come with its original key. As with all my clocks, the buyer will receive my own care sheets so that you will get the most out of the clock. Covering four sheets of A4, these pages cover everything from winding up the clock and adjusting the time, to when to have it serviced. You will receive a TDK C/D with a write up and 115 photos showing the work I have done on the movement and case. The care sheets will be on the C/D. If you require them printing, please let me know. Please note the following on postage:-I am more than happy to post my clocks to you and they will be packed to the best of my ability. With this in mind and because of the rough handling of our postal services you are more than welcome to pick your clock up from me. In fact I would prefer this, as old clocks do not like being moved around too much.I also offer a delivery and setup service to anywhere in mainland UK. If you pay full price for the clock, the delivery is included up to fifty miles from Congleton. If you live further than that, the added cost for delivery is 0.30 per mile return. So the cost of delivery and setup, if you lived 100 miles from me would be £30. I will also give you a twelve month guarantee. In both instances you will see the clock running and ask any questions you might have. REMEMBER.If you do decide to pick up the clock from me or have it delivered and setup by myself I will give you a 12 month guarantee. Please have a good look at the photos before buying and mail any questions you might have. Condition: This clock has been cleaned, serviced and repaired by myself. Both the movement and case have had a great deal of work carried out and is now in very good condition but do bare in mind that its not a new clock.
