Item:292713251527A Best Offer May Be Considered Before The End of The Auction, So Don’t Be Afraid To Ask. Very, Very Rare, Early to Mid 19th Century Miniature French Boulle Bracket Clock. Circa 1840- 1860 Not Fusee This very pretty little clock was probably made as a boudoir clock as it is a timepiece and a very cute small size. These tiny clocks just do not come up for sale very often and what is particularly nice about this example is it is modelled on earlier bell top bracket clocks that were produced in Germany and Austria with very pretty finials and feet. The 50mm dial including the bezel is in extremely good condition with the added bonus of the minute numbers around the outside with just adds charm. I have seen these small clocks on the internet before, but many of them have been ruined but having verge pocket watch movements fitted that have replaced the originals. It has a tiny 45mm plated movement with original cylinder platform escapement. The movement does need a clean as it struggles to run but as this is a timepiece, would be fairly simple and cheap to have cleaned. The case does have some minor brass losses with one loose piece inside to go back on, but can be left and used as it is. It has lovely solid brass mounts and finials and is just simply wonderful. Please see photos as they form part of the description. The photos don't really do it justice as in the flesh it is much nicer and I apologise for the unavoidable light reflections in the photos.
