Item:333503187660RARE GUILD OF HANDICRAFT ARTS & CRAFTS SILVER RELIQUARY BOX AND TABERNACLE 1932. Dispatched with Royal Mail 1st Class. Incredibly rare one off solid silver reliquary box and silver fronted tabernacle box. You will not get a chance to own this item again The box is expertly crafted by renowned arts and crafts makers the top finial has a amethyst cabochon and the front of the box has 2 lapis lazuli panels offset at the side of the glass viewing panel. From the inside the glass viewing panel can be covered up using the sliding doors inside I have been in touch with the guild who have confirmed the box was made jointly by Harry Warmington and George Hart with Harry Warmington likely making the box and George Hart doing the chasing work on both boxes The guild has found the original drawings for the reliquary box and believe they have/ have seen the drawings for the plate on the front of the tabernacle but are yet to locate them. The reliquary box has some small relics inside it including a purported piece of Jesus’s crucifix The inscription on the box is on the underside and not visible when displayed Offered in excellent uncleaned condition the lid does not stay shut as the button that closes it needs fixing easy in capable hands and not really a issue. The box has been well looked after and is free from knocks and dents. The tabernacle underneath is also in excellent condition but is missing its key. The reliquary box weighs a hefty 1.75kg and measures approx 18.5 x 12.5 cm on the top and approx 21cm tall including lid and finial The tabernacle measures approx 24.5 x 30 cm across the top and 38.5 cm tall Any questions or further photos welcome Due to the size and value of this item I will be delivering it in personMaterial:Silver
