Item:142939394800A very fine and rare unusually large early 19th century gilt brass Japanese bracket / table clock or Makura Dokei in need of restoration. The plated lantern type spring driven movement with balance wheel and verge escapement, the balance with silk suspension. Originally with striking and datework. Gilt brass case/frame beautifully engraved with foliate sprays and devices. Beautifully turned frame pillars. Lovely shaped polished and blued steel click spring. The going train is complete. A very fine and rare clock but in need of careful restoration. Please see images below. The whole clock retains its original gilding in exceptionally good condition. The movement is in very good condition but missing the striking train, he date wheels and the adjustable hour markers for the dial. The bow of the steel hand has broken off and is missing.
