The compact UV254-SSE-8 UV System is part of the range of UV systems that utilises a well designed stainless steel (304) housing along with simple control equipment which incorporates a ‘lamp failure audible alarm’. This is important as you are immediately alerted if the system stops working (blown bulb). Bulb changes are simple as is cleaning the quartz sleeve.
The UV254-SSE range of UV systems are available in four sizes. The system can be installed either horizontal or vertically, we would recommend that for ease of access that it is mounted in the vertical position. As a permanent 'always-on' electrical installation the system should always be plugged into a suitable surge protector or socket with integrated protection.
Maximum Flow Rate: (8 litres per minute)
Important
UV Systems are sized according to their maximum flow rate. For UV to work efficiently the water passing through the reactor must be clear. Pre-filtration to at least 5 microns is normally essential for drinking water. We can guide you through this (or any other water treatment problem) with our FREE technical helpline.
How UV Works
UV-C Radiation at a wavelength of around 254nm/s destroys the DNA of bacteria, viruses, pathogens and cysts. This is usually the most efficient and easily applied for of biological water treatment with a kill rate of 99.999% (3 Log Reduction)

Why choose FilterLogic UV?
Looking around on eBay there is a wide range of competing UV systems, some offering equal flow rates to the UV system and possibly at lower prices. FilterLogic have been in business since 1987, we have over thirty staff in the UK and we have engineered a product which we'd be happy to install in our own homes, for our own families. A UV System isn't a fit and forget product, things can go wrong, power spikes might blow the UV bulb, the system needs maintenance every 12 months (new bulb) and the pre-filtration, whatever you choose, also requires maintenance (usually a sediment filter system). Many companies on eBay import low cost, badly engineered UV systems and if you need service or support or spare parts they are nowhere to be found six months or twelve months down the line.. With FilterLogic this isn't going to be a problem, in fact, we encourage anyone looking for a UV system to give us a call to discuss their water treatment so you have the confidence in knowing the equipment is what you need for your application. There is also the technical aspects to consider - Many lower value systems do not offer a lamp failure alarm, which, as its name implies, will start to beep if the bulb stops working or blows. This is critical, you cannot see the bulb, most installations are in cupboards and if the bulb isn't lit, then you will not be preventing bacteria, pathogens and cysts. For families with young children and those with poor immunity and such, even short term exposure to such contaminants can be extremely dangerous.
