Fantastic selection of two different vintage original press photos relating to Flight Lieutenant Webster & the Schneider Trophy in 1927. The first photo is an Underwood & Underwood Press Photo with caption “Imperial Airways Liner Conveying Victor In Schneider Trophy Triumph - Remarkable view of the Imperial Airways liner in which Flight Lieutenant S W Webster and the other members of the Schneider Trophy team flew from Paris, near Croydon, with its escort of R.A.F. fighting aeroplane” showing the Imperial Airways Argosy G-EBLO inflight with RAF escort, (OK condition, with wear) & the second photo is an LNA Press Photo with caption “The scene at Croydon Aerodrome yesterday when Flight Lieutenant Webster and his colleagues arrived by air liner” showing the welcoming crowds around the Imperial Airways Argosy, (condition is poor with heavy creases and tear to bottom left corner). (Each photo measures approximately 25cm x 20cm).
