39 VINTAGE PHOTOS 1930s + GEDDES MAWSON SOUTH WALES SAWYER DOROTHY MEYRICK NEATH

You are bidding on A JOB LOT OF 39 VINTAGE PHOTOGRAPHS

These came to me from a house clearance in Herefordshire.  The only clues I have to names is from other photos which came with them (Please see my other listings). Among the other photos were photos with the family names :- “Arthur Ernest Sawyer'  who died on the 20th September 1953 “Dorothy Meyrick”  11 th  June 1912 – 9 June 2004 “The Everatt  Family”  of Selsey Bill, Chichester

• R Ebsworth, 39 Church Square, Llangennech, Nr Llanelli Plus  links to a Man with the name “Geddes Mawson”,  whose grandson was 'Matthew',  born in June 1966

• There are photos taken by a Trevor O Jones,  who may be from Neath also

There is also a link with these shots and others that I am selling of The Rev John S Thomas,  of Garnant,  near Swansea  (I think the album may have belonged to Mrs Thomas before marriage)

To give an idea of scale, the top left photo measures approximately 10” x 7 ½” (Including mount)

9. 1955: Shirtless man in shorts, with horse. 22 nd May 1955. To mum, This is a snap of Mrs McKnight's Race Horse, this was taken last year & has grown in lot since then, it will be having its first race very soon. Love, Jack'

14. 1950s: Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Has a stamp on the back with the name of a photographic service in Jerusalem, Palestine.

15. 1950: Man or teenage boy in trousers, jacket and jumper, which is tie is over the top of. Standing with a boy in school uniform (Shorts), and a dog. On Vintage 1930s/40s Kodak Velox Paper

17. 1959: View of Newquay Island Suspension Bridge , and sea beyond, with people in foreground. 'Newquay, August 1959'

18. 1970s: Welsh Infant school photo. Probably St David's day as all of the girls are in Traditional Welsh National Dress costume

19. 1950s: Boy aged about 120 standing by a Morris Minor Motor car. On Vintage 1950s Kodak Velox Paper

20. 1920s/30s: Floodwater coming up doorway of building

21. 1960s: Small blond boy sitting on step

24. 1950s: Street scene with Arab women walking with laundry baskets? on their heads under an archway. “Arch of Ecche Homo” Has a stamp on the back with the name of a photographic service in Jerusalem, Palestine.

27. Man in what looks like Arabic Costume on horseback. The horse has a 'competitor's' Number on his chest

28. 1950s:: Teenage boy, aged about 17, in shirt and blazer, with club badge and what I think is a club tie.

29. 1970s: Studio shot of teenage girl in striped blouse.dress

30. 1920s: Older woman with baby on lap, as a girl aged about 7 stands behind. ';9 weeks old '

31. 1950s: Older man and woman. She seated in a cane chair as he stands behind her.

32. 1970s: Boy aged abou 12 in what looks like a Welsh rugby kit

33. 1950s: 'The Virgin mary's Tomb, Jerusalem'

34. 1960s: Family Group. Three generations. Same boy and Christmas tree as earlier with more family

35. 1930s/40s: Building in the shape of a Japanese Pagoda

36. 1930s/40s: Lovely shot. A sunny day outside a church or school. Two little girls playing on a See-Saw, as behind them other girls are playing with a HUGE traditional Rocking horse. Has the number '42' , Which MAY be the date

37. 1970s: Passport photo. Main in his 30s wearing spectacles

38. 1960s/70s: Teenage girl on piepald horse as a man holds the horses head halter.

39. 1960s: Front end of a car. Maybe a Vauxhall?

I have tried to mention any obvious flaws above. The photos have some light buffeting commensurate with age, apart from which they are in excellent condition with no rips, tears or album damage.
