Item:133045143374A pretty set of traditional spindle back chairs consisting of one carver, with unusual “swept” arms, and four matching chairs, all with original rush seats (in varying condition, one is quite poor, the others are not bad - see photos). The lighter, simpler style makes me believe these may be Suffolk chairs. The sixth one is a similar style chair, with a seagrass seat which could do with attention or replacement. We have used all of these with seat cushions in our dining room, until recently. The carver has castors back and front, which may be a later addition, and one caster does not match. This carver needs two small repairs - see close-up photographs. The chairs are very attractive, a lovely warm colour, with good graining and a beautiful original patina. There is authentic wear from generations of feet on the bottom rails! There are signs of historic woodworm in one of the chairs, but this has been recently treated. Overall, they make a charming set for a country style kitchen or dining room, or as occasional chairs. DIMENSIONS: Seat height approximately 17.5 inches and height overall is approximately 34 inches. Do message me if you would like any further information. FOR COLLECTION FROM NEWBURY.Condition:In reasonable condition for their age, with a beautiful colour and patina. A couple need a bit of repair., Style:Country, Original/Reproduction:Original, Type:Dining Chairs
