The dial is signed 'Jos King Winslow'. If we start with the hood this has a flat top which is finished off with a lovely deep cornice. Lovely simple turned columns which terminate in brass capitals which are integral with the hood door with quarter columns which terminate in brass capitals to the rear. If we then move down to the trunk this has a beautiful full length door. . The base is of two plank construction and is raised on a lovely plinth base. The 30 hour movement, has an brass dial marked with Arabic numerals. The four corners are adorned with beautiful painted and gilded shells. The dial is finished with wonderful shaped and detailed hands. The movement is weight driven and is 30 hour duration striking on a bell. The clock is happily ticking away, and keeping good time. The movement is nice and clean as can be seen from the photographs and is happily ticking away and keeping good time. It comes complete with its pendulum and weight. DIMENSIONS: The approximate MAXIMUM dimensions are: - 77.5 inches / 196.5 cm high - 18.5 inches / 47 cm wide across the hood. - 12.25 inches / 31 cm wide across the trunk. - 17.75 inches / 45 cm wide across the base. As can be seen from the above dimensions this clock is of lovely slim and petite proportions. MAKERS DETAILS: Joseph King of Winslow is listed in 'Brian Loomes Watchmakers & Clockmakers of the World Volume 2': 'KING, Joseph. Winslow. 1798-1830'. CONDITION: The clock is in lovely condition as can be seen from the photographs, just minor marks commensurate with age. The clock is happily ticking away and keeping good time.
