This glass is a bit of a mystery! It appears to be a souvenir of a football tournament held in Speyer, Germany possibly in 1992 and possibly as part of the 2000th anniversary of Speyer Cathedral. I think it might have been a youth / under 18s tournament. That's pretty much all I've been able to find about it!
It's a straight-sided clear glass tumbler approx. 13.5cm tall and 6cm diameter. It has a measure mark in black which reads "0,2 l" with "H&H" in a box underneath. I assume this means the glass holds 200ml to the line.
The Speyer coat of arms is on one side - a metallic shield with a depiction of the cathedral in red, blue and yellow and the word Speyer in a medieval style script underneath. On the opposite side of the glass is a black line drawing cartoon of what I think must be the football tournament mascot / logo together with the words Speyer 2000.
I've listed the glass as used as I can't be sure but it doesn't appear to have ever been used - there are no signs of wear or use and it's in excellent like new condition.
PS - I put a sheet of kitchen paper in the glass to take the pictures of the logos and marks so that they could be seen clearly without the refelctions from behind - just in case anyone wonders what the strange white pattern is!
I hope someone will know more than I do about the football tournament and that it will be of interest to them!
Selling During Pandemic
I send by either the Royal Mail postman picking the parcel up from my doorstep when he delivers the mail or by me dropping it off at the courier contactless parcel lockers at my local supermarket when I do my food shopping. Which method I use for an item depends on the size/weight of the item and which service will get to you quickest depending on the day/time of the sale.
