Edinburgh Show 1897.. Stunning Victorian Scottish sterling silver twin-handled trophy cup hallmarked Edinburgh 1895 by Hamilton & Inches. The trophy cup bears a half-fluted design in repousse style which continues down the stem to the base. The obverse of the bowl is engraved with a beautiful image of a Hackney Horse trotting in a rural landscape. The frontal cartouche is nicely engraved: "WON BY HENRY LIDDELL-GRAINGER ESQ. OF AYTON CASTLE, AYTON. Presented by Walter Pattison, Wallhouse, Bathgate FOR THE BEST HACKNEY FILLY AT The Edinburgh Agricultural Society's Show EDINBURGH 16TH JUNE 1897". Weight: 699.3 gm.
