Seller: timerunner56 (827) 100%, Location: Bournemouth, Dorset, Ships to: GB & many other countries, Item: 292578468133 Stunning 8 Bell 5 Gong Double Fusee Bracket Clock By Winterhalder & HofmeierTop quality and well made bracket clock with heavy double fusee movement. This small size piece is 13.5in tall x 9.5in wide x 7in deep which is a good small size for a musical bracket clock and made by one of the best known clock makers in Germany Winterhalder & Hofmeier. The case needs restoration, I'm not sure what wood it is made of, perhaps mahogany or walnut veneer? At the front is the fish scale frets and at each side are the lions head rings (May not be original?). The engraved dial is again quality but will require re-silvering, but has delightful and original dial hands. At the side of the case is the pull repeat cord. The double fusee movement is on a wire, beautifully made and ticking away. On the dial above the 12 it has a strike silent lever and at 3 there is another to select either chiming on four gong Westminster chimes, or on 8 bells. Although the clock ticks away it will require a good clean and service to keep optimum time. I have taken out the movement and released the lever and sometimes it has chimes on all its bells which sounds excellent, although it stops when its put back in the case. I think with a little adjustment it will be fine. I don't repair clocks so have left it for those who do. It is clicking ok on the quarter hour but not striking, or chiming on the gongs. With some repair and restoration you will have one very special little bracket clock. There are very few small bracket clocks especially striking on bells and gongs. Consequently this fabulous old clock is sold as seen for restoration only with no returns or guarantee. A top quality rare movement that because of its weight will be removed from its case and both double boxed for safety during transit.Postal costs refer to UK mainland addressesHappy to answer any questions, either via message or phone ( 07761 432112 ) Terms and ConditionsAll my items are sold for restoration and consequently sold as seen without a guarantee.
