Seller: twicm (740) 98.8%, Location: Tunbridge Wells, Kent, Ships to: Free Local Pickup, Item: 292417386980 Extremely Rare and Very Tall, Late 17th Early 18th Century Brass Dial Floweral Marquetry Longcase Clock ByPeter GaronofLondon Circa 1700 Peter Garon is a very well regarded clock and watch maker and many of his clocks and watchs have found their way into museums leaving very few in private collections. His clocks and watchs command very high prices when they do come up in auction and in retail shops and as this is really only a clock for the serious connoisseur collector or large country house, I am not expecting this to sell instantly. This stunning example is just so rich in floweral decoration, birds and foliage and is extremely tall at 2.60metres. It is in amazing condition with only some tiny and I mean tiny repairs needed to the marquetry. It has a nice warm glow which cannot be fully appreciated from the photos as they were taken outdoors, so there is an element of daylight reflections. Dimensions: Height including top finial approx 263cmWidth at base approx 43.5cmDepth at base approx 24.cm Please note;It is extremely unwise to send large or fragile clocks via the normal mail for obvious reasons, so this is collection only, delivery in person with 50miles of Tunbridge Wells, meet part way within reason or an approved courier of your choice only including covering the courier costs yourself. I strongly suggest personal exchange. Any queries please call 07731 564008 Please remember as with all Antique and secondhand items, please be your own judge About age, condition and description before purchasing as I am not an expert in such things. Just a collector. I am having a major clearout of several decades of collecting and I shall be selling all sorts of things over the next few months with no particular theme so keep an eye out for my bizarre and not so bizarre items for sale. Any questions or any further photos, please just ask and please, please ask questions before the end of the sale. A bidder recently purchased an item and then moaned about it after the event because he hadn't read the description correctly.
