Seller: catkin192 (305) 100%, Location: Altrincham, Ships to: GB, Item: 264623514719 For sale is this rare collection of original designs and patterns for items of metalwork, drawn by the craftsmen and women of the Keswick School of Industrial Art. There are 29 separate items, several of which have been signed and dated by George Atholl Weeks, Dorothea Carpenter and Thomas Hartley. Most bear the stamp of KSIA. The drawings range from small examples of repousse for the edges of trays etc to a full working design for a large tray, an example of which I have found for sale on the net. There are goblets, inkwells and various other items. The items are dated through the first half of the 20th century. There are drawings of church candlesticks and other items which have been stamped and approved by the Carlisle Diocese. On a different vein, there is a double page drawing by G. Atholl Weeks, titled V&A MUSEUM STUDIES, with superb renderings of A Pulpit in the Baptistry at Pisa and a Font and Tabernacle. I have several more photographs of the rest of the items if they are needed. Contact me through Ebay and I will send them. If you need any more info again, please contact me. I believe this to be a very rare archive of one of the best schools of Arts and Crafts metalwork ever to exist in this country, and as such, it deserves to be somewhere where it can be best appreciated. Much of the work would be ideal for framing and display. International buyers welcomed but please ask for the cost of postage before bidding.
